What is the difference between a hemp wrap and a blunt wrap?

One plant. A traditional blunt wrap is tobacco leaf, the outer leaf of a cigar or cigarillo, and therefore contains nicotine. A hemp wrap is a sheet made from hemp fiber and is tobacco-free and nicotine-free. Everything else about the format, the size, the slow burn, the roll technique, is shared.

The distinction exists because the blunt format predates the alternative: for decades the only way to get that thick, slow-burning wrap was to buy a cigarillo and use its leaf. Wrap makers eventually sold the leaf alone, and hemp producers then copied the format without the tobacco. Today the two hang side by side and read almost identically from arm's length, which is why the fine print matters.

Functionally they differ in three small ways. Tobacco leaf is a natural product with veins and varying moisture, so it is stretchier when fresh but cracks when it dries out, which is why leaf wraps ship with humidity control in the pouch. Hemp wraps are manufactured sheets: more uniform, a bit less forgiving to over-handling, and their taste is grassier where tobacco leaf is sweeter and heavier. Burn speed is close, with tobacco leaf usually a shade slower.

The choice usually comes down to nicotine. If you want the traditional blunt experience, the leaf is part of that, nicotine included. If you want the format without any tobacco in the equation, hemp is the whole point. Florida treats both the same at the register regardless: 21 and over, ID checked.
